In 1985, Bart Richey and Donna Holstein recognized a growing need for clean, safe water in California’s Central Valley. With a shared passion for helping their community, they founded B & D Quality Water, starting with just three employees and a partnership with RainSoft Water Treatment.

From the very beginning, their commitment to customer service set them apart. Bart and Donna worked tirelessly to ensure every client received the best care, quickly becoming one of the top 10 dealers in the nation. Their mission was simple: provide high-quality products that improve people's lives.

As their business grew, so did their offerings. No longer just focused on water treatment, Bart and Donna expanded into other essential home services, including air purification, tankless water heaters, standby generators, and solar energy solutions. They wanted to bring the latest technology and environmentally friendly products to homes in their community.

By 1991, their small business had blossomed into a trusted name in home services, built on the principle of "treat others as you would like to be treated.” That core value continues to guide our company today.

After recognizing a need for clean air in California's Central Valley, a pocket for air pollution, we brought on medical grade air purification.

Water heating became a perfect system to go hand in hand with clean water as we have the ability to make water heaters last longer with water treatment.

California's push for clean energy production and savings was a vision Quality Home Services wanted to get behind. Since providing solar across Fresno, Bakersfield, and surrounding areas our team has become recognized locally and nationally as one of the best solar providers in product and service.

Backup generators became an essential addition to our line when our communities saw a dangerous rise in wildfires and a failing utility grid resulting in power outages. We're proud to help families live life uninterrupted and keep the necessities on like refrigeration and medical equipment.

Over three decades later, Donna’s children, Joe and Jill, now lead Quality Home Services as President and Vice President. The company has grown to three locations and more than 150 employees, while staying true to its roots: serving the community with integrity and care.
